The board our friends always “borrow” to keep, this is Rob Machado’s favorite Quad groveler. This special edition Seaside features artwork by one of Rob’s close friends and renowned artist, Todd DiCiurcio and is built in a full carbon construction.
Rob says, “the Seaside is a board that will always live in my quiver, and Todd’s art on it makes it come to life that much more.” Todd shared on the collaboration, “synthesizing my painting ‘Hunt Your Way In Cut Offs; Prey For Nature’ through the Seaside Gallery evokes a sense of adventure and freedom, inviting surfers to ride not just the waves, but also the expression that enhances their experience on the bubble.”
Rob Machado on the Seaside, “just evolving the Go Fish to something new, really. The Go Fish goes fast and feels skatey and loose and I love it, and riding it for a couple years made me want to feel more high performance – more carves, tighter turns. So the Seaside is about refining...less area in the tail, narrowing the tips of the swallow, creating more curve and narrowing the nose. All elements for ripping while the Go Fish stays cruisey and fun.”

"I’ve ridden every big boy short board around, PJs, RNF, performance mid lengths. This board is on another level. Paddles like a dream, gets you into any wave and turns on a dime. The machado fins really add to its speed and turning ability. Haven’t touched another board in my quiver since I got it. Legit dream board. "Spicy would be a good way to describe the performance I’ve been having with this board. Easy paddle in and great lift from the pump. Super quick. Would go as far as to say it’s the best small wave board I’ve owned. At 64 yrs that’s saying something. I’m riding the 5’9” 37lrts."
Could it be too light?
"Very responsive and fast. Catches waves very easily for length and volume. I find the helium a bit too light and the board gets “thrown around” with any chop- wish there was a little heavier version to handle less than perfect conditions. But what a dream on glassy waves. I’m 180 lbs (58 years) and have the 5’5”. Like it but considering a little larger version hoping it might handle some chop better."

"Great board. Does not disappoint. Easy to catch thigh/waist high waves and very responsive. I was out the other day and a guy said I looked like a 16 year old surfing. . . I am 54. My LB and funboards are collecting dust now. Thanks Firewire."
