Restore the Stoke: Rebuilding Quivers for Those Affected by the Los Angeles Fires

Just this past weekend, we partnered with our friend Jeff Glass from Rider Shack in Venice Beach (@ridershack) to pre-qualify surfers who lost everything with pre-assigned Firewire Surfboards & Slater Designs surfboards from Rob Machado, Dan Mann, Kelly Slater, Daniel Thomson and more, with intentions to rebuild quivers lost in the devastating wildfires that hit California in January 2025.
We gathered as a community on Saturday, February 8th alongside our partners at the Venice Surfing Association (@venicesurfingassociation) and Venice Beach Surf Club (@vbsclub), to provide 80+ surfboards to surfers of Los Angeles who lost their quivers in the Palisades, Eaton, Hughes and Hurst fires.
The stoke was high and the vibes were electric as we swapped stories of all-time sessions at surrounding Los Angeles breaks and planned for a future bright with excitement for the regions' famous righthanders and secret sandbars, following the continued efforts to clean the natural environment from the fires' wake.
With drinks provided by 805 beer (@805beer) and street tacos to match, we enjoyed each other's company as we made future plans for continued community efforts in a region so important to our global surfing community.
We were inspired by the grit, resilience and connectivity we witnessed from the tightly knit network of neighborhoods that create the fabric of the Los Angeles surfing community, and we can't wait to share a session together soon.
See you in the water!

None of this would have been possible without our partnership with Rider Shack in Venice Beach, a cornerstone of the Los Angeles surfing community.
This New Year has been a roller coaster of emotions for many residents of Los Angeles, and our Restore the Stoke event was no exception.

Rider Shack in Venice Beach worked with local organizations, Venice Surfing Association & Venice Surf Club, to pre-qualify those affected by the fires with pre-selected Firewire Surfboards & Slater Designs shapes from Rob Machado, Dan Mann, Kelly Slater, Daniel Thomson and more.
Rebuilding quivers for the next generation.
Despite the circumstances, the energy was all-time, showing surfing is in great hands in Los Angeles.
A huge thank you to our partners, sponsors and local community for a successful event. We'll see you in the water!
